Samuel Younge Jr
Samuel Younge Jr was a 21 years old civil rights and voting rights activist.
He was an enlisted service member of the US Navy, he served there for 2 years, then got medically discharged.
In 1966, Samuel Younge Jr and an attendant at the Standard Oil station in Alabama had a verbal altercation, about
Samuel wanting to use the “whites-only” bathroom.
That is when the attendant Marvin Segret shot Samuel in the face.
Samuel Younge Jr became the first black student to be murdered for supporting the Civil Rights Movement.
