Paul Monroe
Paul Monroe was a 23 years old family-oriented young man, and a father to an infant daughter.
In 1993, the Austin Police responded to a call about an alleged armed robbery.
Paul was just walking by that area carrying a duffle bag, the officers confronted him and ordered
him to drop the duffle bag and to get on the ground.
As he was complying, Officer Steven Deaton shot Paul in his abdomen.
Another officer came and handcuffed him as he lay on the ground, in his own blood.
Paul asked for water, but his request was denied.
He was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance, where he died the next day.
