Laquan McDonald was a 17 years old African-American kid.

In 2014, Chicago Police officer Jason Van Dyke, shot Laquan, and he and his partners reported that Laquan was
behaving erratically, and had lunged at them with a knife in his hand.

This was later proven false, after the video of the murder got released, 13 months after the murder,
which showed that Laquan was actually walking away from the officers,
when he was shot 16 times by Jason Van Dyke, killing Laquan.

Officer Van Dyke was found guilty of 2nd degree murder, and 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.
