Jayvis Benjamin was a black man, and a loving son.

In 2013, police Officer Thomas attempted to pull Jayvis over when he crashed his car.
He came close to the car, then drew his firearm, and then yelled at Jayvis to get out of the car.

When Jayvis got out of the car, his hands were clearly visible and held nothing,
he walked forward as instructed at an angle from the officer, while the officer was walking back.

Jayvis was 6 feet away from the officer, and at that point, the officer fired a shot that fatally penetrated
Jayvis’s chest.

As Jayvis was heard struggling, this officer did not even try to help him as he suffered.

Jayvis died that evening.
